Scott Chiasson

Scott is a seasoned professional with 15 years of experience in the petroleum industry and brings nearly 40 years of leadership and field experience when combined with a 24-year military career. Holding numerous command positions in the United States Army, Scott’s military career culminated as the commander of an aviation battalion comprised of 400+ personnel, 31 aircraft, and an Army airfield. Through work experience in both the military, Scott has an extensive background in global operations which gives him a deep understanding of cultural, geopolitical, and logistical challenges across numerous continents. He was recognized throughout his career for being a visionary leader leveraging in-depth knowledge of personnel and project management concepts to significantly increase operational efficiency and accomplish organizational goals. Has solid analytical, organizational, communications, and time management skills, as well as a strong understanding of drilling operations and drilling and oilfield safety.

He is a proven problem solver in complex environments both inside and outside the United States. Scott’s oil and gas experience spans both offshore and land operations. He has background in drilling, completions, and workover operations as an onsite supervisor throughout a Gulf of America fleet of MODUs and Platform rigs. Additionally, he managed a safety group of 30+ personnel providing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) support to all Deep-Water platforms and MODUs assets in the Gulf of America, Brazil, and Mexico.

Scott is a very descriptive and articulate communicator that can effectively message wellbore conditions to office staff and others on the work location. His understanding of down hole complexities allows for detailed work instructions, both written and verbal.

Safety and Leadership

Having managed safety programs in both the aviation and oil and gas industries, Scott has extensive HSE experience. As an aviation commander, he led a safety group of over 10 personnel that covered flight operations during both peacetime and in combat, as well as airfield safety encompassing air traffic control and ground safety systems. As an oil and gas safety manager, Scott led a group of HSE professionals consisting of over 30 personnel covering all facets of safety and environmental requirements for platforms and MODUs over two continents. He has a strong understanding of API 75, 30 CFR Subpart S and O requirements, and OSHA standards.
Scott has a strong multifaceted leadership background developed through education and experience. He led an oil and gas leadership training program teaching and field coaching numerous DSVs, Rig Managers, Tool Pushers, Drillers, etc. on practical leadership in the oil and gas industry. The program overed operations over three continents and bridged both language and cultural challenges.
